PYSCHOLOGICAL ISSUES IN CHILD CUSTODY DISPUTES

Bibliography (Reference list): Your reference list must include at least six (6) scholarly socialscience articles, books, or book chapters published in or after 2010, and at least two (2) relevant
published cases from United States courts (state or federal).
“Scholarly” means (a) articles that appear in peer-reviewed journals, or (b) books published by
established and reputable publishers of academic or scholarly materials. Among other things,
this does not include the course materials; other textbooks; newpaper or magazine articles;
or material that is only available on-line unless it is published in an online peer-reviewed
journal. You may cite these materials, of course, but they will not count towards the required

references. If an item is available in both print and on-line formats, please give me the full
citation: that is, citations for both formats!

Formatting and style: The body of the paper must be between 8 and 10 pages long. This does
not include the title page, abstract, or bibliography. The paper must conform to APA style as set
forth in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Seventh Edition
(2020). Citations to legal works (including cases) must conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform
System of Citation, 20th Edition (2015). Both of these manuals are available through the Lloyd
Sealy Library. Also, on the last page of this syllabus are links to some videos on using the
Bluebook and conducting legal research.
Use double (not 1½-line) spacing, margins of at least 1” on all sides, and a clear, readable
typeface. Font size must be 11- or 12-point. Do not use boldface type for the main text!
