Read the article by Goodfellow and Kilgore on the Blackboard page. Assess whether increased use of DUI checkpoints in Lebanon County would reduce drunk driving based on this research. Analyze the validity of this claim by first summarizing classical and modern deterrence theories. In your summary, be sure to assess each argument as strong, satisfactory, or weak based on your application of Akers’ criteria for evaluating theory. Finally, conclude whether DUI checkpoints would work based on Goodfellow and Kilgore’s findings.
