Letter of Inteest
Transportation & Storm Water Department – Street Division is requesting letters of interest. The Junior/Assistant Engineer – Civil position will report directly to an Associate Engineer-Civil in the Contract Engineering section.
The position responsibilities may include project management, construction management, design of ADA improvements, preparing contract specifications, record research, inspection of construction projects, managing and implementing maintenance and Capital Improvement Projects, coordinating with various City departments, State and local agencies, plan review, field work including project mark-outs and pavement evaluations, developing project plans and specifications for concrete panel replacement, sidewalk replacement, sidewalk slicing, slurry seal and asphalt paving contracts, intake and evaluation of service requests, and various other transportation-related tasks and assignments.
Staff spend approximately 50% to 75% of their time in the field performing pavement and sidewalk evaluations, mark-outs, and quantity verification for their projects.
