Question 1 (600 words or less)
Focusing on the concepts within Chapter 2 and Lecture 2, discuss methods that each school of psychology (presented in Chapter 1 and Lecture 1) might most prefer in studying boredom. Identify what methods each school would most likely use in studying boredom and give a rationale (i.e., explanation) as to why. Discuss this under the following 5 headings and in following order 1. Structuralism, 2. Functionalism, 3. Behaviourism, 4. Psychoanalysis and the unconscious, and 5. Humanism.
Question 2 (600 words or less)
Give specific examples as to how an understanding of the concepts covered in Chapter 3 makes the understanding of the concepts covered in Chapter 4 clearer or easier to understand. Give at least 6 distinctly different examples of this.
• In keeping with academic integrity, ensure that your work represents your own ideas.
Submission:
Submit your paper to the Turnitin portal found on the course eClass page by January 29, at 10:00pm. All students, including those with accommodations, must submit by this day
and time.
You will be graded on the overall clarity and content of your essay. Use your own words, don’t just simply toss jargon at the reader. Repetition of the same concept with the same rationale will not earn you credit. The goal is to show the reader you were able to effectively apply the materials in this course. Clarity of thought is central to getting a good grade. In grading your response, a focus will be on your ability to
communicate in a clear and concise manner.
