Mystery tone essay

This is a song that
will not
be found in your cd collection, iTunes or Shazam. Please listen to the song repeatedly and then write an essay of a minimum of 500 words answering the following questions:
Who could be the artist? What style of jazz is being performed? When do you think it was recorded?
I don’t expect you to find this tune anywhere. I want you to make an educated guess and
tell my why you answered the way you did
. The “why” is what I care about! The essay should reflect the concepts and ideas that we have used in our lessons and must be entirely in the student’s own words. The emphasis must be on aural observations of the music and NOT on descriptions of the artist’s lives. Do NOT include much biographical or historical material. Instead, please write about your observations that come from your listening to the songs. The semester topic/lesson schedule lists the due date for the essay.

Remember that the 500 word essay is supposed to be about your educated aural observations rather than just guessing correctly. Make sure you answer:

Remember, I don’t expect you to really find it, but instead make an educated guess. Make sure you tell me WHO, WHAT and WHEN it is.
Please don’t ask other people for help or use a smart phone to try to ID it. That defeats the purpose of the assignment and I work hard to use files that won’t connect anyway. Tell me your guesses and why, that’s all.
