Project on Child Protection Protocol

In this Final Assessment Report the application of theory to a case study will be assessed.  The Report is divided in to FOUR (4) Sections with a Rubric, word count and marks allocated for each one. When completing the report ensure that you follow the Rubric provided which will be applied when the Report is graded. The use of references to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the application of theory is critical and will be evaluated in every section.

SECTION ONE: DEFINITION OF CHILD ABUSE AND EXTENT OF PROBLEM IN UAE 250 words – 15%

1.1 Explain what is meant by child abuse as understood in child protection and critically analyze the most common form/type of child abuse recorded in the UAE. Integrate theory and provide evidence to support your answer.

SECTION TWO: ASSESSMENT OF CASE STUDY AND APPLICATION OF CHILD PROTECTION LAW 500 WORDS – 500 WORDS – 30%

2.1From the case study provided below, critically evaluate the influence of Islamic culture and principles that you would apply in the assessment of the incident of child abuse.Identify the Article/s of the UAE Federal Law No 3 of 2016that will be applied to support your finding of the case of child abuse and justify your answer with evidence from the case study.

SECTION THREE: DEVELOPING THE PLAN:  STRATEGY OF INTERVENTION – 500 WORDS – 30%

3.1 Write a report for the Judge for the Family Court Welfare on your findings and recommendations for treatment of the child drawing on the Family Assessment Guide. In the intervention planning, identify risks and problematic behaviors, as well as the strategies and interventions to facilitate the changes needed, e.g. tasks, goals, safety plans and outcomes.

SECTION FOUR: THE ROLE OF THE SOCIAL WORKER –500 WORDS – 25%

4.1 Using the Child Protection Service provision risk pyramid, critically evaluate the role of the Child Protection Worker while explaining the application of culturally sensitive practice. Include the challenges the Child Protection Worker may face.
