I believe the idea type of democracy is liberal. Luckily Canada elected its government to be liberal with Justin Trudeau at the reigns. Liberalism generally supports free trade, free markets, individual rights, gender equality and the LGBTQ movement among other things. Being in a liberal democracy in my opinions means we are free to be ourselves and we are able to express our true feelings, and that is not to say that being in any other democracy is repressive but it just feels a little more free. Being a liberal means to be equal with everyone and sure that means more taxes or more money put towards the government but this allows our healthcare to be affordable and our education system is being supported.
The liberal democracy separates power equally, independent judiciary system, and also the checks and balances between branches government. It emphasizes equality, equal rights to everyone. It does not matter their religion, who they love or their economic status. It allows everyone to have a great quality of life, instead of just the rich getting richer.
