Examination of a public organization of your choice through the frameworks

The paper is an examination of a public organization of your choice through the frameworks and theories presented in seminar. Examples
of possible organizations include any government agency or department (Homeland Security, FBI, FEMA, CDC, Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid Services, VA), non-governmental organizations (Doctors without Borders), non-profits (national ones are probably better than
local ones, Amnesty International, Children’s Defense Fund, NAACP), etc. The idea is to take concepts that we review in class (for
example, rational organizations, grants in aid, hiring practices etc.) and apply it to interpreting and understanding the role of your chosen
organization. I strongly suggest choosing a large public organization that has to deal with numerous organizational and bureaucratic issues.
In addition to using your course books and articles from class, you are encouraged to seek out additional scholarly articles related to the
concepts you are exploring – for example, if you are examining the role of culture in your organizations, you might want to find academic
articles or books related to culture and how it impacts/affects organizations.
Technical Requirements:
10 pages in length. Cover pages and reference pages do not count towards the 10 page total.
12pt or smaller font.
Standard MS Word margins 1” top and bottom and up to 1.25” right and left. Double spaced.
APA format. You may discuss with me if there is a format you are more familiar with.
A minimum of 8 sources; four of these must be peer-reviewed academic journals.
