For Part 2 of the Ongoing Employee Relations Project you will select a local company or organization and connect with their Human Resources manager or the hiring manager (note that this needs to be a different organization than the one you have researched on in Part 1 of this project). Conduct an interview with this individual and discuss the points in Part 1 of the Ongoing Employee Relations Project as they relate to this respective organization. Ask specific questions, including how the business addresses the following items:
Various communication styles for maintaining employee relations
The importance of diversity
Performance appraisal and conflict management
The importance and impact of training and development
Intrinsic and extrinsic motivation strategies
Performance measures and their role with the performance management system
Team building concepts
The staffing process
Best practices of labor relations
Write a reflection of the interview that addresses the following questions. Does the company have policies, procedures and practices in place that cover all these aspects? What can they do to improve on these elements? If there is an aspect that the organization does not address, what are some suggestions that you can think of that may help them to address these elements efficiently? Include detailed notes from the interview.
Use the Employee Relations Interview Rubric (below) to guide your work. This assignment is worth 50 points. Your submission should be 2-3 double-spaced pages, not including title page, reference page and interview notes, using APA documentation style. Include resources with corresponding in-text citations as necessary
