Policy Analysis Project: Part3 –Construct the Alternatives & Select the Criteria Assignment Instructions

Purpose:The purpose of this assignment is to cause you to think about possible policy alternatives (solutions) the analyst should consider when dealing with the chosen problem/policy. Additionally, the policy analyst will establish certain standards (criteria) that should be considered when formalizing a policy analysis report. The combination of selecting alternatives and establishing criteria are foundational to a well-written policy analysis report. The Eightfold Path steps three and four are to construct the alternatives and select the criteria.

Assignment:Continuing with the topic you chose in Module 2: Week 2, begin constructing your Project the Outcomes matrix (also known as the 9×9 matrix) found in Appendix A of the Policy Analysis ProjectTemplate. Your9x9 matrix will become Appendix A in yourPolicy Analysis Project: Part 5 – Written Report due in Module 6: Week 6.

Requirements:Using the 9×9 matrix found in the Policy Analysis Project Template (Appendix A), add three alternatives (short labels) and three criteria (short labels) to the matrix. For each element added to the matrix, provide a brief explanation of the label and the framework behind the label in a separate Word document. In each cell of the 9×9 matrix, add possible data collection items that may need to be considered as youreflect on possible outcomes needed for steps five and six in the Eightfold Path. You should expect this section to be at least 750 words in all.
