Case Study
In this assignment, you will apply what you are learning in class to a case involving the public sector. You may select any case that interests you. Just be sure that it is within the public (government) realm. As you review the case, consider the theories and topics we have discussed in this course.
In compiling your analysis, here are some questions to consider and answer in the body of your paper:
· Who were the main players in your case?
· Were there any theories or lessons from the course readings and discussions that can be applied to the background and decision-making in the case?
· Using the theories and lessons in our readings, what lessons could be learned?
· Were there any theories, or action items that could have been applied or implemented to effectively change the outcome of the case?
· If you were a decision-maker in your case, would you have acted differently? What theories or lessons from the text and course readings would you borrow to help guide your actions and decision-making?
Papers must be 5-7 pages in length, written in a formal format: introduction, body of the paper, conclusion, in-text and reference page citations, all in APA FORMAT. All papers must reference the course readings (avoid long quotes, the goal is to synthesize the course material) and offer personal thoughts. All opinions must be supported by facts from the module readings. Outside, scholarly sources may be used to support (not replace) the course readings.
Rubric A- Papers will (1) adhere to the page length (5-7 pages) outlined in the assignment, (2) include a significant amount of references to course readings (not long quotes or bullet points, but information is synthesized into paper), (3) clearly address case study assignment guidelines, (4) be written in a proper APA format (with an introduction, thesis statement, conclusion, double spacing, 12-point font, paragraph form, etc.), (5) be free of grammar, spelling and punctuation errors, and (6) submitted in the correct format.
