intro/conclusion: The thesis statement should be stated more clearly, and make sure to clarify what exactly her argument is in this essay. 9/10

rhetorical situation paragraph: Don’t just summarize the essay. Who is speaking to whom? Who is the intended audience here? What is she persuading them to do? Be as specific as possible. 6/10

ethos: She references reliable sources, yes, but what about the author’s character? Why should we listen to her? Having had personal experience with gender roles in the household, that also counts toward ethos.

logos: give logos its own paragraph. Here, look closely at her reasoning. How does she appeal to our sense of logic? Does she make a logical argument? I think she implies that men and women should share duties equally, but that does not happen. Think of what her main argument is, and how she shows us it is logical by using cause and effect, inductive or deductive reasoning. Also, the paragraph that begins “As Grose expounds,” should have a topic sentence about the logic she uses. 6/10

pathos: Use quotes around the words she uses that have emotional resonance. Also, make sure you specify what emotion each charged term evokes. You don’t think she should be taken seriously because of her word choice. This could also hint at the audience she is speaking to. 8/10
