In your first two written assignments you researched an extreme weather event from the past and provided details of the event, its historical context, and its societal impacts. For your final assignment you will think about this same weather event in the context of climate change. In particular:

Was the event impacted or altered by climate change?
How may a similar event change in the future?
Is it thought to become more or less common?
Would it change in intensity or duration?
Could it potentially impact a different or larger region?
Are there other aspects of climate change that may enhance the impact of the event?
Provide some suggestions for how society could be better prepared to deal with such a climate change altered event in the future.
Are infrastructure changes required?
Would public outreach or education programs be needed?
Would government regulations or restrictions help mitigate impacts of a future event?

This assignment is again meant to be open-ended and the above should act as an outline to what could be included. For a lot of these events the potential impacts of climate change on them are not completely understood, so there are no right or wrong answers! Be creative.

Also, you are encouraged to select events not discussed in the course material and outside the recent past, including events during ancient times that led to the collapse of societies or events taking place more than 100 years ago before technological advancements in predicting weather.

Your response should be roughly a 5-minute recorded presentation using VoiceThread with no more than 6 slides (not including title and works cited slides). Be sure to cite references in APA format.
