• Begin research: use references to become knowledgeable on topic

• Narrow focus of topic: Develop thesis and ideas on current legal aspects of topic; use strategies to develop ideas, e.g., who, what, why, how;capture key issues and supportive evidence
• Consider a working title for your paper that reflects the thesis or purpose statement of the paper
• What does the research/sources reveal about the issues, problems, controversies?
• Outline your paper based on your understanding of the issues
• Start Use your outline and references(edit and polish after getting a good draft)
• Read your draft to assess the following:

  ___Your opening paragraph introduces your topic and sets out your thesis or purpose of your
