Stages of a group/ Diversity and Social Justice
Based on your readings in ch. 5-7 in Gladding, pick a group you have been a member of (e.g., a sports team, a school group, a therapy group) and describe any aspects/examples of storming, norming, and performing that occurred in that group. Also describe what your role was in those aspects/examples. (If you cannot come up with just one group in which you “saw” all of those stages occur, you can describe an additional group situation for that stage).
Based on Ch. 8 in Gladding, apply parts of the chapter (at least 2) helpful to consider when working specifically with a group of any of the 6 cultural populations identified, or the LGBTQQI population in light of current events/news stories/social media issues happening in our world (e.;g., BLM, transgender rights, human trafficking, immigration, the pandemic, etc.). Describe the current event/issue for us and then apply the parts to your chosen group. If you would like to choose two different populations, you can apply one chapter concept to each (still a total minimum of two text aspects).
