Medical Ethics and Law – Court Case search paper

The rough draft is due November 8th 2020. The final draft December 10th 2020.**This research paper is on a court case from the medical field point of view. The court case is on a 6 year old boy (Michael Colombini) fatally injured by a flying oxygen tank during an MRI exam. This occurred at the Westchester Medical Center, north of New York City. Happen on July 29th 2001. The idea is to break down this court case with the knowledge of and referring to medical ethics and law. Why this happened, how it happened. What kind of legal accusations was involved, what ethic morals stood out.

· Your paper needs to have a beginning, a middle, and an end

o Beginning – Abstract – thesis

o Middle – review of articles you have read in your own writing – if you use quotes from an article be sure to use proper AP formatting for all in-text citations

o End – the conclusion of the paper should bring all of the internal writings – information and data to a logical point to wrap up the materials presented

· Abstract (thesis statement) that clearly and concisely describes your ethical issue or court case you are presenting in your paper

· Use your references to provide supporting evidence from multiple perspectives

o You need to use 3-5 resources for this paper, preferably articles written in the last 10-20 years (if you have one older article that explains something well please feel free to use it)

o If you are reviewing a court case be sure to look at literature that has been produced associated with your topic

· Avoid emotionally charged or biased statements – rather provide viable arguments that provide the reader with an understanding of how right and wrong can be addressed associated with your topic

· Evaluate and reflect on the content of your research materials to ensure that you’re looking at the topic from multiple directions – again no bias from the materials you are using
