Intelligence
is the ability and mental tenacity (what is mental tenacity and in what way is it intelligence?)of acquisition and application of knowledge and skills. It is a human trait that develops from the time we are children. Children show good aspects of intelligence
since the first year of birth. They observe their parents first as they(parents) are the only other present human beings in their immediate environment. Children watch their parents’ general mannerisms and behavior first, how they dress, how they move, their
language usage, and their personalities. This is how a child can tell you some things that adults have not heard before. They are comparable, on this particular front, to cheetahs. Cheetahs observe the prey first, until it gets distracted, then spring into
action. This is how a child shows intelligence by watching their. siblings, uncles, aunts, parents, and other people they interact with.
Consequently,
people should be conscientious about what they say or do in front of children, as they quickly pick up on these character traits, and they get integrated and normalized by the child as part of their personalities. Children will often randomly pick a family
member they feel most comfortable around and to whom they can relate and look up to that individual as their role model. The child holds them in high esteem and hopes that the person will help them develop good behavior and define their relationships while
identifying with the aforementioned role model’s qualities. In some cases, the child might turn out to be an all-round better person than their selected role model. (How related to children’s exhibition of intelligence?)
A
child can also show their intelligence through their exploration of pretend play and imaginations. As the child sees the world, they can deploy their sense of smell, sight, taste, hearing, and touch to figure out what transpires in their immediate environment
and build their perspective. (This sounds like it’s from a published article. The assignment asks for examples of how children display intelligence)This helps them decide whether to enjoy it or not. Children also take up technological skills much faster than
most adults. Compared to the previous generation of which these adults are a part, in which most technologies did not exist, they can master phone passwords and navigate web pages6 and applications very quickly. They can handle computers and smart hand-held
devices with almost expert efficiency, while their parents have been observed to be slow on the uptake. More often than not, they teach tech skills to their parents. This is a true testament to child intelligence.
Children
are smart enough to be more dramatic about what they want badly. This is because they know that drama and tantrums get them attention and can allow them to successfully manipulate their parents into buying them what they want, such as an expensive toy that
they usually would not get. Children also display intelligence in early levels of school. They are eager to learn and are very teachable and take up new knowledge and skills very fast. Their interests develop very quickly. Academic processes equip children
with critical thinking skills, creative thinking, assertiveness, discernment, moral values for right living, and generally improve their intelligence quotients. (Sounds like it’s taken from a published article) Board games, a children’s favorite playtime activity,
have been seen (seen where?)to enhance arithmetic skills, quick thinking skills, for example while playing scrabble, and strategic thinking in playing chess or checkers. Video games, another favorite pastime for kids, enhance the children’s cognitive thinking
and develop collective thinking skills that facilitate teamwork, a skill required in their actual life.(where are you getting this information from?) This is learned in their course of playing multiplayer games, where they can select their teammates and coordinate
well and work together towards a common goal. Video games also imbue children with superior memory capabilities.
Although
a case can be made that children’s minds are nearly blank slates (what’s this mean?) that soak up intelligence quickly, it is no doubt that they have a natural form of intelligence that helps with the acquisition of secondary intelligence. Mental growth can
be challenging for children. They are more open-minded about challenging tasks due to natural curiosity. This is beneficial to their mental development. Children can predict an adult’s next move based on past events and reactions (What’s your source for this?).
All these are true testaments to children’s intellectual tenacity.
