If all economists were laid end to end
All of this work would be well beyond the scope of our class. However, we are lucky because there are so
many other economists out there who have done the work for us. What I want you to do is write a research
paper, using economic analysis (forecasts made by other economists) about what you think the future will
hold for the residential real estate market in California in the next 3 to 5 years. I am thinking about
California in general and as a whole, not just one segment or geographical market.
What I would like you to do, ideally, is to find arguments both positive and negative (i.e. California’s
housing market will expand and California’s housing market will contract) and compare and contrast them.
Then you can come to a conclusion, based on the arguments that you believe to be the most persuasive

Step 2 Narrow your research to six articles (three positives, three negatives)

Step 4 Come to a conclusion
Step 5 Cite your sources at the end
