SPLISS model

Use relevant academic (journal articles/books) and non-academic (e.g. previous and current sport policies, industry reports, appropriate news articles and high quality websites) literature to explore the input/throughputs that have contributed to the success/failure of your chosen nation.
The assignment should be structured in a report format. Clear headings for each section should be used and your report should have a logical structure. The report should be referenced and written in an academic style.
Students should consider the strengths and weaknesses of the SPLISS model in their report.
You should include relevant examples of sporting success/failure to support your critical discussion.
Students should critically evaluate the SPLISS model and its ability to explain sporting success/failure at the elite level. Students should consider the following:
The strengths and limitations of the model;
The evidence-base for attributing success/failure of NATIONS to the SPLISS model;
The role of macro, micro, and meso level factors in the evaluation of high performance sport.
As part of the SPLISS model critique, students should discuss some of the SPLISS pillars and provide case studies to support their discussion.
The focus of this assignment is on elite sport only.
Discussion of the SPLISS model should be critical and avoid description. Claims should be supported with evidence in the form of academic literature or relevant case study examples.
