Gene Cloning in the production of insulin

Cell and molecular technologies have evolved significantly in the last thirty years. With the advent of stem cells and gene editing, today we are getting much closer to curing diseases than we ever have before. In addition we are learning more about how subclass of disease-causing mutations involves changes in the epigenome and microRNA regulation. Understanding what is causes the disease leads us one step closer to curing them . Finally, as we move into this new era of advanced gene editing, there are tough ethical decisions to be made.

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for you to explore and evaluate the evidence for current cell and molecular technologies that are being used to understand, treat, and cure disease by completing a research paper.
