Assignment- One of the primary reasons that we study literature is the belief that literature speaks to the human condition, or what we might think of as the elements of humanity that connect all of us. Symbolism and theme are two elements of literature that authors may employ to create connections between the literature and the reader. Choose one work from this module and describe what you think the work may be saying about the human condition through symbolism or theme. Do not give a plot summary; instead, consider if the work rouses any feelings in you or connects with your emotions or life experiences in a meaningful way. Use detailed evidence (quotations, paraphrases, and/or summaries) and examples from the literary work to support your answer. Remember to include in-text citations, and don’t forget to address theme or symbolism in your answer.
