Although some people do not like psychological-thrillers or gory movies,Midsommar is a must watch. It is a breakup movie dressed in the clothes of a folk horror film. When watched, there is many things that run though one’s mind, the mind will race and race, while trying to figure out what will happen next.

It should include your overall evaluation, or judgment, of the piece.

  • It should not “announce” the thesis
  • Criteria 1: Expressing Emotions (negative)
    • After Dani’s parents/sister do not answer her she worries
      • Dani’s boyfriend dismisses her anxieties
    • Dani’s family passed away due to murder/suicide
      • Christian (Dani’s bf) must now stay with her
    • Dani fights her emotions, but then breaks down
    • Dani attempts to bury her sadness

  • Escaping elsewhere to cry alone

    • Christian and her relationship starts off rocky
    • Christian feels duty to bond to invite
    • Christians/ Dani’s relationship was toxic

    • Instead of him ending the relationship he lets it keep going on while distancing himself from Dani

  • Needs constant reassurance over everything that she does but pushes him for the truth in her own “healthy way”

  • After Christian cheats on her, she is inconsolable and all the women that surround her drop to the floor and yell and cry with her, that is what she needed from Christian but that never happened so the women mocking her made her feel like one of them by them empathying with her and putting themselves in her shoes.
