Step:1

Identify a problem: TRICARE, a primary insurance group for our army veterans and service men doesn’t cover sensory integration therapy.   There’s is a lack of treatment services for army veterans and service men with brain injuries.  sensory integration therapy has been used to reduce the symptoms of brain injuries among many individuals, especially veterans. So, why doesn’t TRICARE cover such therapy treatment? We need to support our soldiers who have risk everything to protest us!

Step: 2

The grant will be used to fund and establish sensory rooms within our newly faculty, seek2find located in Utica, NY.  Seek2find is dedicated in providing occupational therapy services to Veterans and active service men of all ages.  About 95 percent of occupational therapist service offer to our clients are covered under TRICARE policy.   The Seek2Find organization is seeking a fund of 500,000 to build multiple sensory rooms within our facility for veterans and service men at no cost.  They have helped risk their lives to protect our great country! It’s time we help them recovery from the aftermath…

Guide for Preparing Your Written Grant Proposal

  • Cover (Title) page: include your names, descriptive title of your project, planned duration of project, and amount of funding requested.
  • Abstract for proposal (a brief summary of your project…maximum of 250 words)
  • Introduction
    • includes the need or problem statement, in lay terms a statement of purpose: Documentation to support or ‘prove’ the need or problem. Must be understandable to the general audience. Provide this evidence in a descending order of relevance or importance, with the most important data first in your narrative.
    • Provide a minimum of 6 key references for statistics/data/evidence to support the need/problem, and to justify the significance of the project.
    • If appropriate, explain any experience group members have that is relevant to the success of the project.
  • Goals and objectives.  Write descriptive and measurable goals and objectives which address the projected outcomes of the project.
  • Plan of Action/Project Design/Methodology:
    • Provide a detailed description of the methods or techniques to be used to implement the project for which you are requesting funding.
    • Include a justification for the method(s) you will use along with an explanation of how the methods will lead to the stated goals and objectives (only for the part of your program for which you are requesting funding).
    • Include a schedule of dates for different phases of the project.
    • Address the collaborative aspects of the implementation of the project. If this is part of a larger project, be sure to include that information.
  • Evaluation Plan:  Identify and explain the evaluative measures you will use to determine and document the outcomes of the project.  Keep this focused on the part of the project for which you are requesting funds.
  • Budget and Justification:
    • List all materials, supplies, equipment, travel expenses, staff compensation, and services for which you are requesting funding to complete the project.
    • Provide the estimated costs for each budget item.
    • For each budget category, provide a brief and concise justification for your funding request.
    • Identify any existing funding/resources which will be used to support the project.
  • Dissemination of Project Results and Sustainability:  Briefly explain how you will disseminate the project outcomes and continue to meet the need you identified (how you will continue to fund the program).x
  • References:  Using APA guidelines, provide a full list of references used for your proposal.
