ASSIGNMENT – Comprehensive Program Plan Project

FTR707 & FTR807

The student will complete a comprehensive program plan with a specific population of your choosing. You will work remotely with weekly check-ins and guidance from the Field Placement Professor throughout the project to ensure project content is relevant, user friendly, and appropriate for the identified population.

This is a practical assignment and will demonstrate your understanding of Therapeutic Recreation practice and academic program learning outcomes. This will be a valuable project you can add to your resume, portfolio, and reference during job interviews.

PART 1

Between September 14th – October 30th, you will be required to complete and submit the following components of your program plan, DUE October 30th, 2020 in the following format (templates and examples are posted):

· Full Written Program Plan Outline including evidence based research justification for 6 week program

· Full Written Program Outlines including evidence based research justification for each 6 week group topic

o 1 PowerPoint Presentation for one of the weekly topics chosen for your program

o Group Activity sheet for that chosen group topic

o Evaluation for that chosen group topic

o Mock Evaluation of 6 week program and of the chosen group topic

o Mock Documentation of client outcomes for the chosen group topic

Your 6-Week Program Plan should include:

Population of your Choosing (Geriatric, Mental Health, Children, Special Needs)

• Summary / Overview / Purpose

• Overall Justification Evidence Based Research

• Overall Program Objectives and Performance Measures

o Weekly Outline – Topic

o Research Based Evidence

o Objectives and Performance Measures

o Timing, supplies/materials/equipment needed

o Content (PowerPoints with discussion, activities, etc.)

o Evaluation

• Sample Participant Tracking/Progress Notes

• End of Program Evaluation
