The purpose of this assignment is to synthesize research literature regarding a current medical imaging topic and evaluate trends and advances in imaging technology.

For this assignment, you will conduct research on a new or emerging technology associated with one of the advanced imaging modalities covered in this course. You will then complete a written paper detailing the findings and analysis of your research. Carefully read the assignment instructions below for the guidelines to follow for this paper.

1. Content(43 points)
   1. Establishesclear topic and thesis statement (2 points)
   2. Summarizes background information/history on the selected modality (5 points)
   3. Thoroughly describes a specific new and innovative application of the modality (6 points)
   4. Explains benefits or changes resulting from the new application, including in what area it could have the greatest impact (6 points)
   5. Addresses potential barriers or obstacles to implementing the new technology (6 points)
   6. Provides comparison to other advanced imaging modalities (5 points)
   7. Analyzes the implications for the radiology field and/or healthcare in general (10 points)
   8. Provides a cohesive conclusion (3 points)

   2. Presents information in logical and organized manner
   3. Uses effective paragraph transitions
3. Writing requirements (5 points)
   1. Minimum 1500-word requirement (not including title and reference pages)

   3. Minimum of 3 scholarly sources used as references
   4. Proper spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, grammar throughout
