Assignment Overview: as a Clinical/Public Health professional, you’ve been asked by your employer to research materials for the development of a “COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions” hand-out for patients and other community members. Below is a list of common questions that you should research:

Why is it called COVID-19?

What are the most common ways the virus is passed between humans?

What is “Community Transmission”?

What does the abbreviation R0 mean, and what is the value for COVID-19?

What is the mortality rate? Is it the same for all age groups?

What are the main symptoms of COVID-19 infection? How soon do they appear

after infection? How long do they last?

What are more severe complications? How often do complications occur?

Are some groups at higher risk of developing severe complications?

Can individuals be infected but not show symptoms? How common is this? Can

they still infect others?

Are various age groups at similar risk for infection? Can all ages spread the virus

equally?

Are there any therapeutic treatments available? How well do they work?

What is the progress towards developing an effective vaccine?

How can testing and contact tracing slow the spread of disease in my

community?

What should I do to reduce my chances of becoming infected and/or spreading

the virus to others?

Are masks effective at slowing the spread of disease? What type of mask should
