History of Modern Medicine topic
Choose any topic related to the history of modern medicine. Make sure the topic is specific enough to be adequately explored. Draw at least 1 PRIMARY SOURCE (can be a historical document, work of art, letter, diary but peer-reviewed HISTORICAL journal) and 5-7 secondary sources (peer-reviewed books and/or academic journals articles written by HISTORIANS or HUMANITIES SCHOLARS) in order to construct a HISTORICAL argument. This is a HISTORY class. Rich articles with interesting arguments will enrich your own argument, so we are asked to choose the source very wisely.
A Part. Description of essay- tell about the topic of the essay, specify the time period, geographical location, any important people, medical ideas, patients, technology etc.
B Part. What is the historical question you plan to tackle in the essay? The argument that you will eventually make will be the answer to this question.
C Part. 1 primary source and 5-7 secondary sources. After every source, describe what is the article/book about and what does the author argues? Briefly, what source/evidence does the author use to make their argument? One or two paragraphs will suffice.
