Assignment 1: Complete Exercises 5-16 through 5-45 on pages 149-50. Note that portions of the chapter which will help guide your revisions are listed in the sub-heads for each group of exercises selected. Make careful revision choices.
Assignment 2: After reading Chapter 5 closely, look at the “Summaries” of the Objectives for the Chapter on pages 147-48. Use the “tell it to a friend” technique to paraphrase each objective. For example, if you had a friend in this class who did not have access to the 7 Objectives of Chapter 5, how would you indicate (in a phone call or email message) what is contained in each Objective in your own words? This assignment asks you to provide a hybrid Summary and Paraphrase of each Objective.
Assignment 3: JOURNAL WRITING: In order to demonstrate your understanding of the details of the text’s Chapter 5, write and post in your My Journal for this Week a 1- or 2-paragraph response to each of the Questions 5-1 through 5-8 on page 143 of your text under the heading “Test Your Knowledge.”
