In seeking an answer to this significant question, you will focus on the influence of leadership styles on the growth and sustenance of capacity. You will review the recent research on how given styles of leadership influence the health and vitality of a firm’s capacity including the two leadership styles in the figures below.

This assignment will involve active and precise use of word searches with the Library databases, so as to benefit from studies completed in the last five years. Your findings should add a significant component to your research of capacity, as well as contribute to the knowledge of the leadership of an organization with growing healthy capacity. The assignment will provide significant insight into the leadership’s impact on organizations.

 

For assignment 1, you will develop a tri-fold brochure about the influence of leadership in the development of quality capacity.  Your brochure will also focus on what leaders do to enhance the development of quality and sustaining capacity.  Search the peer-reviewed databases for current studies of how leadership style relates to growing and sustaining quality capacity. You will develop the brochure for upper management.

Design a tri-fold brochure that includes the following:

  • A discussion to illustrate the relationship between the leadership style of a leader, such as transformational leadership, and the growth and sustainability of an organization’s capacity.
  • A description that explains how and why leadership style provides influence upon capacity.
  • Examples of how leaders can enhance the development of quality and sustaining capacity.

2: Improving Organizational Capacity

Week 6 focuses on improvement, taking a step beyond current, acceptable performance to improve the performance of capacity in an organization by raising the quality and time performance of individuals in the capacity department, thus improving the department as shown in the figure below.

Ideally, as the ability of the department to develop and deliver more and better quality goods and services, the organization will gain the capability to provide additional products and services to offer in the markets served. The leaders and managers of the organization will thus have the opportunity to increase the product/service span of the organization, thus improving organizational productivity. Among New England brewers, expanding product has had an interesting influence on market power. Within the brewing industry, a proliferation of products has shown an important impact on the market power of a brewing organization.  Berning and McCullough (2017) studied New England brewers and determined that expanding product line reduced excess capacity and raised market power. With this discovery, relatively small firms were able to compete with larger organizations.

For this week’s assignment, you are asked to research means to measure capacity in your organization. Given the evaluation of capacity in the firm, what could you do as a manager to raise the quality and time performance of personnel in the department, seeking to improve capacity?

Assignment 2: Determine Methods to Measure and Improve Capacity

Instructions

For this assignment, consider that you are the manager of an organization of your choice and you want to know how the organization’s capacity is prepared for a likely change in marketing conditions. You plan to research the means to measure the organization’s capacity to provide goods and services.  If you notice that capacity appears low in the advent of rising orders, what will you do? Will you attempt to raise the quality and time performance of individuals in the department, increase the supply of materials, or introduce other measures to improve capacity?

For this assignment, write a paper that addresses the following:

  • Indicate the measurements organizations use to measure capacity.
  • Discuss what you could do as a manager to improve the level of quality and timely service to improve capacity.
  • Determine how these improvements contribute to improvements in the quality of goods and services provided to customers.
  • Consider increasing customer follow-ups after purchases regarding satisfaction of goods and service, as an indicator of the quality of capacity.
  • Develop a brief survey 2 weeks after purchase to inquire about suggested improvements that could be made in products and services.
  • In your paper, utilize the theory of constraints, the theory of capacity utilization, or another theory directly pertinent to the development or use of capacity.

The Influence of Leadership Theories and Principles

Understanding the history of organizations and the impact of their leaders is instrumental in providing a foundation for current leaders in these organizations. Leadership Styles, Traits, and Theories Necessary for a Global Organization

As business evolves and expands without the restraints of brick and mortar, it is becoming critical for leaders to understand the wants and needs of stakeholders. This awareness enables leaders to possess the needed skills and tools to develop the culture of a global organization. This must include a solid understanding of the involved cultures. This plays a huge role in the capacities of an organization to find long-term success.

Leaders must have a cultural intelligence that enables them to be strategic in aligning their organizations with the people who make them up. Having the ability to develop a culturally diverse organizational leadership strategy that effectively responds to internal and external factors is essential. This includes being able to proactively handle and attune to culture shifts. For example, think of how Hyatt had to be cognizant of these shifts as they introduced their brand in China. They opted for a slow integration that ensured there was a more holistic approach than just offering Chinese elements within the hotel (Hamdi, 2019). These abilities require leaders to assume a transparent role in driving the different values and ensuring that they are aligned with the business. It is critical that these processes include all stakeholders of an organization, as it is the most effective way of promoting the necessary diversity to find success.

Leaders realize that rather than driving one style, which may be detrimental to a global organization; it is critical to gain insight into a diverse model of leadership. It is important in a global organization to examine the nature of leadership traits combining the influences and environments in which they operate. While there are several forms of leadership, it has been said the future of organizational leadership belongs to cross-cultural transformational leadership (Bonsu & Twum-Danso, 2018). This leadership style entails a leader utilizing stakeholders and tools to identify necessary changes (Cherry, 2019). In all, this is a best practice in fostering a positive organization.

This week, you will research and analyze leadership styles, traits, and theories needed in a global organization.
