Title: Engagement: Ethics, Access, and Diversity

Engagement with clients takes place within the social structure of organizations and society. As we consider this environment, we need to be aware of the ethical impact of social determinants, social issues and dynamics that relate to health equity, including variations in access to health care and variations across diverse populations.

As health care delivery has shifted in recent times to adapt to the pandemic, care has changed in face-to-face settings and expanded on telehealth platforms. As such, social work engagement needs to carefully consider ethics, access, and diversity under these new conditions.

Write an essay that addresses the following. Discuss each of the questions thoroughly.

• As we think about access to care, what are at least 2 social determinants that influence access, and in what ways do these determinants intersect with access?
• As telehealth becomes more integrated into health care, what challenges exist in access and health equity in the delivery and experience of health care?
• How does the intersection of race and COVID-19 influence who and how people experience the pandemic?
• In the context of interprofessional integrated care, what might social workers do regarding systemic discrimination? Individual-level discrimination?
• Thinking about what ethical issues apply in engagement with clients, what are the ethical implications of the issues discussed above?

Be sure to use APA Style 7^th Edition formatting, especially for citations/references. Literature should be primarily from scholarly journal articles and book chapters but may include some articles from major newspapers and reliable internet publications. Wikipedia should not be used.
