2020 has largely been characterized by the COVID-19 pandemic. But did you know that we are facing a different epidemic in this country? Generally when we attribute words like “epidemic” to infectious diseases; however, this epidemic that we are facing is different. As a result of COVID-19, the United States has experienced as sharp incline in the number of deaths by suicide. So what can we do about this new ‘suicide epidemic’?

  4. Given the list of risk factors from the article, which risk factor should public health experts address first? What are ways in which you believe this can be accomplished? (4 points)
  5. The post must be at least 250 words. (2 points)
  6. Include at least 1 outside reference, cited in APA format. This reference needs to be cited both in-text and at the end of the post in a reference list. (2 points)
