Here we are looking at interval data. That is, how many of a certain type of event is occurring. I do this
all the time with grades. Here, you need to add how many students have received an ‘A’ (see the
syllabus for percentages that indicate grade). How many students have received a ‘B’. And so on for the
other grades. Place those numbers in the ‘Number of Students’ column.
Be sure to include title on the x-axis and y-axis. Include an appropriate title for the entire graph.
Generally, “Grade vs. Number of Students” is not appropriate; think of a better title that could convey
what is happening with the data.
Highlight E5 through F10. Then do a Column 2-D column graph (or bar graph).
Also, ensure that you do not forget to make the ‘Grades’ the x-axis and the Number of Students data the
y-axis.
