Question 1 – Chapter 4
You at a current protest and see someone injured on the side of the street, would you help that person? What factors would influence whether you would help or not? (Include terminology and theories discussed in chapter 4). In what way would compliance and conformity expedite your willingness to help or derail it? How might you respond from a Individualistic Cultural view or a Collectivistic Cultural view? And what solutions can you envision for a shift towards positive conscious outcomes?

Explain the role of physical cues and their importance in social perception and the mis-judgements of others. On what cues should social perceivers focus in order to try to detect if someone is trying to deceive others? Conversely, on what cues do social perceivers typically focus, and why are these cues less revealing? How might humans, and societies become more conscious of their internal cues systems?

Cultural and Social Identity Theory affect social psychological development and our perceptions toward others – how do these perspectives effect in-group attachment(s) and our current struggles in consciousness with systemic racism? Explain how aspects of prejudice, discrimination, stereotypes, racism and sexism set perimeters for hate and injustice. Define implicit racism and the effects it has on current contemporary issues and challenges we face in the United States. Offer thoughtful solutions that will assist with shifting and revisioning this challenge of and for our time.
Question 2 – Chapter 12
To what extent do situational factors, and the persons current level of consciousness and self concept, influence an individual’s susceptibility to cult indoctrination? Meaning, what is the role of the physical, emotional , and cognitive environment a person might find themselves in which could provide the opportunity to join a cultic group. Explain how the social psychological perspectives of behaviorism, psychodynamics, and humanism would assist someone leaving a cult.
