1. Short assignment: Choose any concepts we discussed in the course, the choice is yours, as long as it
remains within the parameters of the course (privileges, globalization, inequality, gender, poverty,
etc.), and state it in your own words. The objective of this exercise is to discuss the importance of
these concepts in international development. As stated, your assignment should be between 400-600
words. You will receive 3 points. As usual, you must include a word count to get your grade for this
portion of the assignment.
2. Article evaluation: Considering that the military is often the first foreign intervention to an area
requiring development resources, it is important to reflect on the connection between military
intervention and international development. In this assignment, you will find one peer reviewed
article that examines the relationship between the military and the development industry and write a
short 400-600 words evaluative paragraph for a in which you describe the study's pertinence to
development studies. Remember to include a word count for your evaluative paragraph.
