Develop a 3-5 minute Power Point Slide Presentation.

Students will develop a 3-5 minute Power Point Slide Presentation. Students will select a topic from the text and materials covered this term. This informational presentation is for 8th graders attending Banks Middle School discussing a conflict related topic. The Presentation should meet the following criteria.

1. Be age appropriate and designed on a 8th grade level for language and appropriateness of material.

2. Should be fun and engaging, but not juvenile or unprofessional.

3. The information presented must be correct, informative and easy to understand.

4. Don’t crowd the slides with too much reading. Kids will not want to do a lot of reading.

5. Add an activity or participation component that provides examples, illustrations or demonstrations of your topic or concepts. You may use videos, games, self-tests, etc. Any links to external material must work. If you link to external sites, the site can only be used as support and may not “be” the presentation OR “give” the presentation for you. For example, if you show a video it should not last for almost 2 minutes in a 3 minute presentation.

6. Slides should be grammatically correct and free from spelling and punctuation errors.

7. Limit slides to 15 or less.

8. Reference content at end. Refer to what book chapter and external information that you used.

The point of this assignment is to assess if you are capable of analyzing and implementing by sharing (teaching) someone the information that you have learned. Don’t skip the Tips for Success Module.
