Field Project 2

Note: Please remember that you are a Buddhist and you have to write about other religion.

Observe and participate in a religious ritual that is not related to your own religious background. A religious ritual can be as simple as a family meal or weekly religious practice. It may be as complicated as a specific death ritual or wedding. Regardless, you must also ask practitioners about this ritual: its meaning and purpose. As with the first field project, you will need to check outside sources to get a fuller understanding of that specific ritual. You should write an essay about this ritual. It can NOT be a simple description of the ritual. An essay will have a point of view and be based upon data (from the participation/observation and from your research). Your essay should be double-spaced, 12 point type, submitted as an attachment in Microsoft Word format.

Please do not forget to do the proper things for any academic paper: checking grammar and spelling, affixing a descriptive title to your essay, following proper style, including paragraph use and indentation, using internal citations and references, and maintaining academic forms of expression. If any of these things are unclear or unknown to you, please submit your paper to the writing center for their assistance. As with the first assignment, you will need two valid academic references.
