Final exam instructions
The final exam is a critical thinking exercise in which you respond to a series of questions. The questions are organized into six sections corresponding to rubrics of “critical thinking” and one “spiritual value” by which this exam will be assessed. The rubrics are included so that you will know how you will be assessed. Note the number of points for each section. Please use the attached file to write your essay. Type your answers under the box of rubrics for each question. Save the essay to your computer and then submit it via Blackboard.
You will also be asked about connections to your career path and your sense of purpose and calling.
You may use your laptop, notes, books, and all library resources. However, you may not consult with other students, other faculty, library staff, or library patrons. Plan to spend five to six hours completing your essay.
You are writing for an academic audience. Do not use slang or contractions. Do not use “you”; use “one” or “the reader” instead. Keep the discourse in the third person until the final section, which will include first-person reflection.
Do parenthetical citations. Think American, not British! Punctuation goes after the closed parenthesis.
Strategy: Read through all the questions before you begin writing. Make notes for each section of the exam before you start writing.
Proofread before you make your final submission! Ten percent of your grade is based on your writing.
