Annotated Bibliography Essay
You will complete an annotation for FOUR of the essays in Chapter 6 “How We Connect” in Acting Out Culture. You can choose the four essays from the chapter to annotate. Each annotation should be about 150 words in length. Please see the student sample annotated bibliography posted in the upload file and use it as a reference.
Format of an Annotated Bibliography Entry:

MLA Citation (you must construct a complete citation as you would include on a Works Cited page)
The next part is ONE paragraph containing the following information:
A Statement of Scope: This first sentence introduces the author and title of the source stating the main idea(s) of the work
Summary w/ Examples: You will write a 100-150 word summary of the work and include (if applicable) examples that you might use to clarify ideas
Relevant Commentary: This is the evaluation of the source. Is it good for your topic and why? Which section of the essay will this work bet for (and yes it could be any section–introduction, your position, opposition, or rebuttal)? For more detail, you can include an important quote and explain its importance so you don’t forget when you begin to draft.
You will follow this same format for the next citation until you complete 4 annotations in total. You should be choosing sources to summarize from all 4 sections of your essay.
