For this paper you will conduct a rhetorical analysis of 2 “web presences” similar to the project you intend to complete for this class. This paper provides an opportunity to apply the readings from the course, and these readings should serve as source material for your paper. A successful analysis will adequately answer the following questions:
Using the Writing Spaces text as a reference, how does the website of the individual/organization present the content, digital artifacts, and information within their website? Does the website follow “best practices” as the Writing Spaces text outlines them for readers? Also, consider the website’s visual rhetoric and design choices. How do those choices effect the website’s impact?
Using our other course readings as reference, how does the “web presence” you are analyzing attempt to gain attention and attract an audience through the use of social media? For the individual/organization you’re analyzing, how do their choices and strategies help to improve the “velocity” of their content?
In thinking about your own project, what have you learned from this analysis? How might your own choices adopt or build upon the “web presence” you are analyzing? What might you do differently with your own project?
