Culture and bias impacts how we understand the questions or tasks on an assessment measure, as well as how an individual formulates their responses. For this assignment, the student will complete two online assessments provided for free from the

Open-Source Psychometrics Project at the following web address: https://openpsychometrics.org/ The student will save their results report generated from each test and use those them to write a reflection paper about their experience with the instruments. One will be a personality test and one will be a career inventory; the assessment names and links are provided below:
• Open Extended Jungian Type Scales 1.2 (similar to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator [MBTI]) found at: http://personality-testing.info/tests/OEJTS/
• IIP RIASEC Markers (based on John L. Holland’s six Codes) found at: https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/RIASEC/
The basic outline for the reflection paper is listed below. A template for the reflection paper will be provided by the instructor, located on Bb. The reflection paper must be in APA format (title page, body, reference page). The student will need to locate and use at least two sources over cultural bias in assessment to cite within the paper in sections C and/or D below. The sources can be books, journal articles or reputable webpages (seek pre-approval from the instructor). The course textbook cannot be used as a source. The source should be listed on the reference page (use the Purdue Owl APA webpage to learn how to correctly list the source on the reference page) and cited within the paper at least once each.
All SECTIONS of the paper below should be written in NARRATIVE format. The bullet points offered below and in the template are NOTES FOR YOU to know what your narrative should include. Do NOT use bulleted points as your responses, use a narrative format for your responses.
A. Personal Description of each Assessment and Experience
• State the official name of EACH assessment you took; these names are provided in the syllabus in the description of the assignment and on the webpage where you accessed them.
• Describe your personal experience when you took EACH assessment, discus EACH assessment.
• Describe EACH assessment in your own words, your personal impressions of EACH assessment.
B. My Results and Cultural Influence
• List, explain, and discuss your personal code results for EACH test.
• Do you agree with the EACH code, why or why not?
• Describe your culture regarding EACH code.
• How did you become the person your code is describing or not describing for EACH test (if you didn’t agree with
your code for each test)?
C. Items of Interest for Cultural Bias
The required intext citations can be utilized in this section.
• Identify and list (exactly from the assessment) at least 3 test items from EACH test that you feel are culturally biased in some way (you will list 6 items total, 3 from EACH test; to complete this part of the paper you’ll have to go back to the assessment site and view the tests again to read through them and pick out the 6 items).
• Justify and explain why you feel EACH item is biased.
• Which population or cultural group do you feel EACH item might be biased against?
D. Responses from Other Cultures
The required intext citations can be utilized in this section.
Take EACH test item you identified as biased in section C above and do the following (with EACH test item):
o Explain how you responded to each item of interest and why.
o Explain how another population or cultural group might respond to these items and why. o Do you feel their response would be different than yours? Why?
